1. Who we are

LayerScape ("we", "us", "our") is a web-based platform for creating interactive 360° presentations, primarily for use in education. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

3. How we use your data

To provide, maintain, and improve the LayerScape service
To authenticate your account and keep it secure
To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password reset)
To process payments and manage your subscription
To analyse aggregate usage patterns to improve the product

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-party services

We use the following sub-processors to operate LayerScape:

SCCs = Standard Contractual Clauses, the EU-approved mechanism for lawful data transfers outside the EEA.

5. Cookies and analytics

LayerScape uses Vercel Analyticsto collect anonymised page view data and web performance metrics. No personally identifiable information is stored in cookies. You will be asked for your consent before analytics are activated. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" in the footer.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers.

6. How long we keep your data

Account data is retained until you delete your account
Project files are deleted when you remove them or close your account
Analytics data is retained in aggregate form for up to 12 months
Billing records are kept for 7 years as required by tax law

7. Children's data

LayerScape is designed for use by teachers and educational professionals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at support@layerscape.tech and we will delete the account promptly.

Student viewers of shared sessions do not create accounts and no personal data is collected from them beyond an anonymous session identifier.

8. Your rights

Under UK/EU data protection law you have the right to:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
Erasure — ask us to delete your account and associated data
Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — for any processing based on consent (e.g. analytics)

To exercise any of these rights, email support@layerscape.tech. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Supervisory authority

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice on the site. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest revision.
